A highlight of the upcoming London Build Expo will undoubtedly be the London Construction Awards (LCA) gala dinner on the 26th of October at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington.
2016 London Construction Awards Event
The good news is there is still plenty of time to enter if you haven’t already done so. You can also still buy tickets for the gala dinner, which will be an unrivalled and entertaining networking event for all those associated with the industry.
The awards event is only in its second year, but the level of interest shown already so far for 2016 has been phenomenal. Entries are pouring in for the 12 categories, and the expert panel of judges will have their work cut out to choose the best.
Official Judges for the London Construction Awards
This year the official judging panel includes leading names from some of the most exceptional and influential companies in the construction industry.
They include a Director from CBRE, the Head of Construction from KPMG, the Sustainability Operations Director from Skanksa UK, and representatives from the likes of Camden Borough Council, the Chartered Institute of Building and Balfour Beatty to name but a few.
The categories open for entry are: –
- London Build Excellence Award
- Sustainable Construction Award
- Regeneration Project of the Year
- Contractor of the Year
- Supplier of The Year
- Project Design of the Year
- Innovation of the Year – Manufacturing
- Innovation of the Year – Software
- Innovation of the Year – Materials
- Marketing Initiative of the Year
- Health And Safety Solution of the Year
- Apprenticeship Scheme of the Year
And whilst 11 out of the 12 category winners will be chosen exclusively by the judging panel, the London Build Excellence Award will be chosen in conjunction with members of the public who can have their say via social media.
How to Enter the London Construction Awards
The award celebrates the outstanding contribution of an individual to London’s construction industry over the year. All other categories are fairly self-explanatory, but more information is available on the London Build Expo website.
If you would like to enter or even nominate an individual or a company for one of the award categories it can be done online.
Submissions should be in the form of a 1,000-word rationale of why the award nominee deserves to win. Supporting material can also be appended to an application – such material could include brochures, advertisements, charts, statistics, customer feedback etc., for example.
According to event organisers Oliver Kinross Build Ltd., “For this year’s remodelled awards, the focus is very much on excellence on the ground and discovering the unsung heroes that consistently deliver outstanding projects, are constantly innovating and are leading the way to provide a safer working environment for all involved.”
The LCA Award Ceremony, Gala Dinner & Networking Event
Over 500 important movers and shakers in the construction industry are expected to attend the events evening and gala dinner in October, and comedian Jimmy Carr will be delivering a set to the gathered audience.
If you would like to be among the attending audience there is limited remaining space available, and you’re advised to book your seat or table as soon as possible to be guaranteed an invitation to this fabulously entertaining and important networking event.
You can find out much more about the London Construction Awards via the London Build Expo 2016 website, including information on how to book your place at the gala, enter the awards and who the judging panel is made up of.
